What began as a series of 4 minute webisodes created by Ilana Glazer and Abbi Jacobson, became the new comedy series that debuted on Comedy Central in January 2014. Staying true to the web series has allowed them to keep their fan base from the web and pick up new fans, who discovered the duo and tuned in after Amy Poehler signed on as an executive co-producer alongside Ilana and Abbi.
The show follows the main characters, Ilana and Abbi, as they meander and stumble their way through life as 20-somethings in New York City. On top of starring in the show, the girls have also written, directed and produced the series from the very beginning, using their personal experiences coming of age to inspire the "fictional series" that is Broad City.
